SPEAKING OF SUSTAINABILITY

We were delighted to be invited to speak about sustainability and community initiatives at Biomed Realty's properties, including Granta Park, at an event last month at Clare College hosted by the Cambridge Forum for the Construction Industry (CFCI).

Orestis Tzortzoglou from BioMed Realty had the opportunity to outline the continued growth and exciting future plans of the Park, and how we were going to implement these changes going forward:

• The continued push for a greener way of life
• Having offset 142K metric tonnes of C02 emissions
• Looking forwards with a close eye towards renewable sources of energy including fuel cell and solar panels at new constructions

As the talk continued, Orestis also highlighted the importance of protecting and preserving the natural features within Granta Park.

The river Granta flows through the site, alongside 3-acres of woodland. This beautiful environment provides us with the perfect opportunity to host nature events, in conjunction with the Wildlife Trust, for staff and local residents, including members of Abington Naturewatch.

There’s certainly lots to look forward to, with continued plans to create a greener future, and even more events for Granta Park based employees and the local community.
