Recent years have seen the increasing development of Cambridge as a world-renowned life science cluster, with around 430 companies ranging from tiny start-ups spawned from the University to global leaders in the pharmaceutical industry.
Cambridge also has one of the strongest business networks of any technology cluster. Currently, over 200 life science companies in this Knowledge Intensive sector call Cambridge home.
Approximately one third of the life science companies are pursuing biologics and anti-body research, one third concentrate on small molecules, and one third focus on regenerative medicine, biomarker and genomics.
