Sustainable Vision

Taking responsibility for our environment and ensuring sustainability into the future is at the heart of what we do. We strive to make constructive decisions which not only enable us to sustain this approach into the long term, but which also encourages and facilitates our occupiers to do the same.

PARK

Park Environment

Across the Park itself we actively and responsibly develop and maintain our environment for all – both humans and wildlife – to enjoy!

Biodiversity

Granta Park sits next to the River Granta with its own lake and three woodland walks. It’s home to a variety of wildlife, including native crayfish, otters, kingfishers, little owls, barn owls and stock doves, many of which have taken up permanent residence while others are regular visitors. In addition, our wildflower meadow attracts an abundance of insects and butterflies as well as rare flowers such as bee orchids.

We enjoy a long-term partnership with Abington Naturewatch. Volunteers from across the Park report wildlife sightings of particular interest for the group’s blog and in their annual report.

Beehives

The Park is currently home to several honeybee hives, which are owned and managed by a local apiarist with several years of experience.

Located in Lagden’s Grove woods the honeybees have settled in extremely well since their introduction in 2018. They bring back a variety of pollen which indicates there is plenty for them to feed on within the local area, with each bee visiting 50-100 flowers during one trip.

Travel

Our site-wide Travel Management Plan, in operation since 2012, sets objectives and targets to reduce single occupancy car journeys to the Park.
